Flying to a destination has become a more expensive endeavor; however budget flight websites help curb some of the expense when planning your next trip. There are many different sites that can help you with this and they range from those specifically designed for cheaper flights to those that are designed to help you attain an overall cheaper vacation package. Each of these sites has its merits, however one must also be careful when shopping for budget flights because a lot of scams and rip offs have popped up on the internet, robbing “buyers” of their personal information, credit card numbers and in the end no seats on the airline were ever reserved for the buyer! These websites for bargain fights may be useful to you. How to recognize the real websites for bargain flights If using a reputable website, these discount flights can save the purchaser time and money by optimizing their savings based on the input of the shopper. Generally, the shopper puts in the information about which airports they would like to depart and arrive at, what date they would like to leave and arrive, as well as what time of day they need to travel. Once coupled with how many seats desired and a preference on non-stop flights, the website creates a list of the cheapest flights by airline. It can also be formatted to rank the flights by time and/or number of stops for the consumer to pick the flight of most interest. Some of the more popular websites for bargain flights and how they operate One of the most popular sites that show bargain flights is orbitz.com. The answer is both yes and no. Everything that seems too good to be true, most likely is. You get what you pay for. Most of the time when something is discounted… it’s discounted for a reason. It’s possible that the plane is old, dirty, or even has had a history of mechanical problems. Reasons Behind Discount Flights The flight may be discounted because of it’s terrible service, captain, or rude flight attendants. You never know. I have never gotten on a discounted flight that was not bumpy! Nor have I ever been on a discounted flight that the plane was nice. Older planes taking flights have some pretty nice discounts. The “discounted flight” plane has less upgrades… which in turn means less safety features. But then again, just because something is modern doesn’t make it safer. Planes are much heavier than they used to be. Whenever you take a discount flight, you are taking a risk. No one ever tells you why a flight is discounted, do they? No, they don’t. That is most likely because they would rather you not know. However, there is also the small chance that no one needed to go where that flight was headed. I turn, you would see discounted flight rates. This is because for the airport to make a small profit, is better than no profit at all. If you ever take a discounted flight on a nice, clean plane, this is probably the reason for your discount. Also, often you will see discounted flights that are destined for “unsafe” areas. Two way flights to Jamaica are fairly cheap. That is because the crime rate there is ridiculous. No one wants you to pay an arm and a leg to go to a [...]

Cheap Flights from Cheap Fly - Cheap fly advice for cheap flying and finding cheap flights tickets

Why Do Airlines Offer Flight Reductions?

Cheap Flights

attract new potential flyers

charging less for fares

maintain a competitive stand

reducing flight costs

reductions for flight fares

Why Do Airlines Offer Flight Reductions?

Why do airlines offer reductions for flight fares? Though it would be nice to believe this was simply because they value their customers, truthfully the answer is the same as always – money. How would airlines generate more money by charging less for fares? Reducing the fares of certain flights allows an airline to attract new potential flyers and maintain a competitive stand with other airlines commuting to the same destinations. In recent years many major carriers have had to rethink and streamline their operations in order to increase profits in a declining economy. A couple ways an airline can achieve this goal is by maximizing the amount of travelers per flight, and doing quicker turnarounds per destination, allowing them to have more planes in the air at a given time. Another way to max flight time would be targeting high-demand direct destination flights for consumer travel and offering more flights to those locations. Southwest has become a model for older existing “legacy” airlines over the years due to their ability to not just survive, but to thrive and profit in these difficult times by using the tactics mentioned. Direct, no-frills flights with maximum passenger counts make it possible for airlines to save on high-priced fuel consumption and allow them to cut costs for the consumer. Though I’m sure we all like the in-flight perks of snacks and beverages, an airline who cuts out these little extras per flight can potentially save millions throughout the course of a year time. Essentially the idea of reducing flight costs for the flyer is simply to entice him or her into flying on their airline. Passing on the peanuts to pocket the pennies seems like a fair trade-off many travelers are willing to make these days.

Cheap Flights from Cheap Fly - Cheap fly advice for cheap flying and finding cheap flights tickets

When is it Worth Paying for a more Expensive Flight?

Flight Discussion

Cheap Flights

Expensive Flights

flight decisions

Paying for a more Expensive Flight

worthwhile flight cost

When is it Worth Paying for a more Expensive Flight?

The short answer, of course, is anytime the advantages of taking that flight outweigh the disadvantages of spending more money! That said, the problem then becomes one of making an accurate assessment of both the good points (advantages) and the bad points (disadvantages) of taking that flight over taking a different, less expensive flight. Making that assessment might be very easy or very difficult and may vary widely depending on things that are well beyond your control. Let’s look at what some of those factors might be. If you are lucky, determining whether taking the more expensive flight may be an easy one such as realizing that the cost difference is a relatively small amount based on your economic situation. Thus, the decision for a person making $1 million a year and with a cost differential of less than, say, $100, there is really no decision. That same decision for a person who is unemployed or who has a minimum-wage job is a more difficult one. In that situation, the person will have to look at other, more personal factors. If the situation is a life-threatening one or one with intense personal interest, then the decision again becomes a “no-decision” situation. If a close loved-one is in a death bed situation where any sort of a delay may mean not reaching that person’s bedside before they pass away then we are again in a “no-decision” situation. In either of these situations, there is probably no real decision to be made, you make the hard choice and deal with the consequences, if any, later on. The first situation has virtually no future consequences while the second situation may have financial consequences at some point down the road. Similar situations might arise in the business world when an executive must travel to [...]

Cheap Flights from Cheap Fly - Cheap fly advice for cheap flying and finding cheap flights tickets

Why I Try To Use Cheaper Flights?

Cheap Flights

save money on flights

Why I Try To Use Cheaper Flights?

“Cheapskate” used to be a nasty word. It invariably conjured vivid images of abhorrent, ancient misers, whose shelf life expired eons ago. Hands in their pockets, nervously fingering their meager, filthy coins, one accidental glance in their direction could turn an innocent onlooker to ash. In a once loving, and generous world, they exuded the stench of selfishness. It was such a short time ago that we would have shunned in disgust that miscreant at the gas station furiously shaking the gas pump in a frustrated bid to eke out the last little bit; a deplorable display of a lack of prosperity in one’s life. When the tides of cheapdom began to turn, finding the lowest price was a matter of pride. If we could beat the system, our superior intelligence might allow us some small chance for our survival in the world. Now, it’s a necessity. We are buried in coupons, fliers, reality shows, and pop-ups urging us to claim the title of the Cheapest Cheapo of all the Cheapies. We click, and click, and click our way through every imaginable internet deal, never being satisfied that a price comparison from one website is good enough, even if the results are the same on a dozen others. Almost always, it never feels as if the struggle was worth the paltry sum we may have saved. It is a scourge that eats at the core of our being the most when we’re searching for airline tickets. The truth is, presently, there are more beneficial deals than ever before. Changes in the economy, and the addition of several new carriers over the past ten years, have forced the airlines to be competitive, or face bankruptcy. The explosion of price comparison technology creates a plethora of choices the average traveler can access [...]

Cheap Flights from Cheap Fly - Cheap fly advice for cheap flying and finding cheap flights tickets

Is Flying First Class Any Better?

Flight Comparison

comfort vs. cost

first class vs. economy class

flight comparison

flying first class

Is Flying First Class Any Better?

Any adult that has traveled considerably by flying must have asked himself or herself this question a couple of times – Is flying first class any better? It doesn’t matter what your socio-economic status is or if you regularly fly first class or economy, the dichotomy of cost vs. comfort is not an easy one to dismiss. To the frequent first class flyer, the question will be do I have to pay this much for such a short flight? To the frequent economy class flyer, the question will be is saving a few thousand bucks worth jeopardizing my overall health? As simple as this question might seem – and hence its answer – to you the reader, it is not always an easy thought to confront, and most times even after asking the question, we still do the same thing we did the last time we asked – it’s an unusually difficult task to change any human behavioral pattern merely by reason, but I intend to try. The airline industry too, like the proverbial devil tempting Jesus in the wilderness, fully understands this quagmire and has helped undecided economy class flyers jump ship by offering frequent flyer miles bonuses based on the class flown. Even though this invariably affects the economics argument, the question still remains for a vast majority who do not have to travel overseas frequently for leisure. Another catch is that if you become addicted to flying first class, then when you do earn miles enough to grant you an award ticket, you are likely to redeem a first class award ticket which in turn breaks down the economics argument since the award miles redeemed is proportional to the award class redeemed. Another reason why people choose flying first class or economy is that they do not [...]

Cheap Flights from Cheap Fly - Cheap fly advice for cheap flying and finding cheap flights tickets

My Two Most Useful Travel Websites and Why

Travel Websites

airline ticketing websites

airline tickets

most useful travel websites

travel websites

My Two Most Useful Travel Websites and Why

When I am travelling both abroad and within the United States, I have found that cheaptickets.com, Travelocity.com, and the website of individual airlines that I desire to fly have been the most helpful. In today’s economy, I have found that it is not just about getting to the destination that concerns me, but the amount of money I can save while getting there. Not only does every dollar count, but every dollar not spent on the air travel, I can then spend enjoying my vacation. First, I will start with cheaptickets.com. This website allows you to search a multitude of offers, make more informed decisions on what airline to fly and when you want to fly. While it mirrors many other websites in existence, I have found a sense of comfort while navigating this site and trust when making reservations. At first, I used this site out of random chance, but ever since, it has been nothing but positive experiences. While it is against the nature of the website, many times, I have found flights from airlines and then proceeded to contact those airlines to purchase tickets even cheaper. While this is not what the website wants you to do, and it doesn’t always work, it is a great tool for research on my attempt to save money while flying. The next website, Travelocity is typically my second choice, but my first when it comes to car rentals and hotels. Like cheaptickets.com, they offer cheap airline prices but nothing more than cheaptickets.com. At times, I have noticed that some of the tickets expire quickly or are more expensive than other sites. As I’ve said before, I like this site for hotels or car rentals because they show better available options that I can quickly find and compare elsewhere.

Cheap Flights from Cheap Fly - Cheap fly advice for cheap flying and finding cheap flights tickets

My Best Air Travel Journey

Flight Stories

Air travel

air travel experiences

Italy to NYC

Rome to NYC

My Best Air Travel Journey

Having parents, family members and friends spread out across the globe, I have always been, since I was a little child, an avid air travel nut. I have always enjoyed it, when I was little, I was demanded to sit closest to the window, and would cry if I didn’t get the spot that I wanted. I think that my most favorite parts of air travel when I was little were the takeoff and landing. I found them so exciting and thrilling, not at all scared of the loud noises, or of any thunderstorms or turbulence. My air travel experiences I used to fly by myself, even when I was a kid, which means that I got babysat from flight attendants. My mom would drop me off at the gate, and the flight attendants would always make sure I got to the right seat and to my next flight on time. They always treated me like a little doll and told me I was so cute. When I turned 14, I decided I did not want to get babysat by the air hostesses anymore. So at that age, I flew truly by myself for the first time. I had so much fun, it made me feel so independent and grown up. I felt more experienced than more than half of the other travelers, even though I was so young. I knew the layouts of all the major east coast American and European airports by memory. I knew where all the gates were, and I often found myself answering questions from troubled flyers that did not know where to go. I enjoyed the wait at the airports, watching other people walk by, some in a hurry, some looking out the windows at the air jets, some shopping, some buying last minute [...]

Cheap Flights from Cheap Fly - Cheap fly advice for cheap flying and finding cheap flights tickets

Vacations in Niseko, Japan

Holiday Offers

Japan

Niseko

Vacation

Vacations in Niseko, Japan

If you are thinking of going on a vacation in Japan, but don’t know where to go, Niseko is the place to go. Niseko is a town located in Hokkaido, Japan where only 5% of the entire population of Japan live there. There are so many things to do on your visit to Niseko, the most popular being a visit to one of their three major interlinked first-class ski resorts during the winter time. In the summer, there are also many activities to do for the family. In your visit to Niseko, you should also stop by their restaurants and enjoy some of their most wonderful cuisines. In Niseko, Japan, you will have the time of your life with all the activities you will enjoy year round. The three first-class ski resorts are Higashiyama, Hirafu, and Annapuri. Although these resorts are ski resorts, you can also enjoy other sports such as hiking, snowboarding, and rafting. If you are looking to visit one of these resorts for skiing, hiking, and snowboarding, the best time to visit would be starting in late November and ending in late May, where fresh powder snow falls for the most part on a daily basis. Annually, it is said that an average of 15 meters (600 inches) of dry snow falls in the Niseko area of Japan, making it perfect for such activities. The resorts also have 38 lifts and 2 Express Gondolas. If you are not an expert at these activities, there is no need to worry because they have courses for Beginners, Intermediates, and even experts. This resort offers over 1000 meters of elevation and over 47 kilometers in slopes. If you are looking to visit the resorts for rafting, the best time to visit would be in spring, when you can enjoy river [...]

Cheap Flights from Cheap Fly - Cheap fly advice for cheap flying and finding cheap flights tickets

How to Find the Best Flight Deals

Cheap Flights

best cheap flights

best flight deals

flight deals

How to Find the Best Flight Deals

Finding the best flight deals is just one of the many challenges every traveler has to endure in order to stay on budget. It’s never easy but with a little know-how and some tips from a pro, I think landing the best flight deals will be just a walk in the park. For many travelers, stepping into the airport is a bit of an adrenaline rush. Everyone begins the process of shuffling through security, baggage check, and entering the airport. After a couple hours of sitting around waiting (usually because your flight is delayed), you finally are allowed to get in line and board the airplane. As you look around, you see that everyone on the airplane is there for a different purpose. A young couple on their honeymoon cuddling by the window seat, a pre-occupied business man frantically answering his last emails before the plane takes off, and a middle aged woman whose weary heart is returning from her mother’s funeral on the other side of the country. Whether you are planning a dream vacation or a boring business trip, finding a flight can be a hassle – let alone the best flight deals! With rising fuel prices and the current state of the economy, finding the best flight deals is becoming more and more important. So what are the best ways to find great flights on a budget? This all depends on how you would like to travel. Aside from the obvious tip of flying coach instead of first class, there are many ways to cut costs while still enjoying your mile-high trip. When can you get the best flight deals? First off, be mindful of when you will be booking your flight. Plan as far in advance as possible to make sure you know where you will [...]

Cheap Flights from Cheap Fly - Cheap fly advice for cheap flying and finding cheap flights tickets
